I planned to have an Anniversary Sale to celebrate, but got a migraine instead. Once this migraine is gone, I'll set up the sale and send out an email, so make sure you’re on the list!
(Hats are handy for blocking the light, but make a shadowy picture.)
]]>During the month of October these bone necklaces will magically transform from dog bones (that they love to gnaw and bury) into cute skeleton bones to celebrate Halloween! However, if you wish for them to be cute skelly bones year round they will happily comply. The Silver Dog Bone Necklace is available in the store.
P.S. - The Gold Dog Bone Necklace is also available in the store.
]]>I'm a perfectionist planner who's not very good with change. One of the biggest things that making jewelry and selling at shows and conventions has taught me is how to be more flexible.
Before I go set up at a new convention or show location I plan my booth layout. But, sometimes when I get there the booth space that was supposed to be 10 feet by 10 feet will actually be a bit smaller. And there goes my plan. I've had to adjust my booth setup on the spot so many times that I've learned how to better "go with the flow." Both when it comes to my booth and other areas of my work (and life).
When I make a new piece of jewelry I have an idea, usually a mental picture, in mind of what I'm going to make. But, sometimes along the way I run into technical difficulties that I have to problem solve or I just plain make a mistake. That leaves me with two options: scrap it or figure out how to "make it work." Scrapping it seems like such a waste, so with Tim Gunn's infamous catchphrase in my head I figure out how to "make it work" instead. This is the story of the Abstract Make It So Necklace. It may not be my usual aesthetic, but it works.
P.S. - The Abstract Make It So Necklace is available in my online store!
]]>When I was little we had one cutesy cardboard cutout decoration on the window. My mom wasn't much of a fan of the holiday and most years we didn't decorate at all. My mom also chose my costumes. The better quality ones I wanted were too expensive, so I wore those 80s plastic character dresses that came with a mask. At least I got to be She-Ra one year. 🗡️
As a teen, Halloween allowed me to express and explore sides of my personality that weren't allowed to be shown the rest of the year. I wasn't allowed to dress very sexy, and I've always had a darker side. For one day a year I got to push those boundaries and be more me.
My first year in college I bought tons of decorations for my dorm room. I definitely went overboard, but it wasn't just about the decorations (although I didn't realize it until now). In a way, Halloween became a celebration of my freedom to finally decorate and dress and be all of me.
Halloween is still one of my favorite holidays. I look forward to shopping for new decorations each year, and decorate my house inside and out (although some years not until the day of - that's life with chronic illness). When I have the ability and a costume in mind, I dress up. Whether I have somewhere to go or not.
This year I've been struggling to feel it, as I'm sure a lot of us are. Shopping online for decorations wasn't as fun, I didn't get my mini pumpkin because I can't go to the grocery store (and spaced asking my hubby to pick one up), and decorating had to wait until Halloween week. But, I'm still doing the things I can to try and enjoy it how I can. That's all we can do. And even if it feels a little flatter this year (I'll miss seeing the trick-or-treaters), it's still worth the effort to celebrate. To live life as normally (and safely) as we can. 💜

Hubby surprised me and brought home a mini pumpkin! 😁
As we wait for election results today and the next few days, please be kind to yourself and lean into your self-care. 💜
The Purple Tilde Ring in Antique Copper is available in the shop.

]]>When the silver asparagus necklace was added to the online store it went under the radar, so I thought I'd give it some attention!
But first...I have a couple of patches of wild blackberries growing in my backyard left over from when the area behind my house was wild growth. It's a bit funny because they grow up between my old back fence and the neighbors new fence and arch over into my yard. I love this time of year because I get to go out and pick the blackberries (I berries!) and eat them! This year I've had way more berries than the previous. Today while picking I accidentally got a bit too much sun because there were so many blackberries ready to be picked! Oops! If I'd known, I would have worn sunscreen. I had to experiment a bit with my photo editing to get my mild sunburn toned down for these asparagus necklace pics.
I love asparagus, and I love all the detail on the asparagus charm. The bundle of asparagus is even tied up with a little bow! Whether in silver or gold, this cute little asparagus necklace will make you smile every time you wear it.
Scroll down to see a couple new pics of the asparagus necklace in gold too.
The Asparagus Necklace in Silver is available in my online store now!
]]>After the 10th Anniversary sale I did a photo shoot with the Fleur Key Necklace for my next post...and then COVID-19 came to Seattle. You may or may not know, but I have several chronic illnesses. I isolated immediately because I'm high risk. I had a couple weeks of high productivity from anxiety followed by a couple months of depression.
Then the Black Lives Matter protests started in Seattle (which I 100% support). All my energy went into doing what I could for the protests for a few weeks, sharing sources and information on my personal social accounts. I wanted to share on my LuvCherie Jewelry socials too, but I didn't have the capacity.
More depression, and then I started digging my way out of it. I worked on getting stronger again, finding a better activism and life balance, and creating happiness at home in isolation. Gradually I got back to work, and here we are.
The last couple weeks I have been working on getting caught up, and I've done some serious business planning I'm excited about. I'm eager to implement it and share it with you. In the meantime, check out the Fleur Key Necklace in Silver. I that it's a key with a floral feel. It's also reminiscent of a fleur de lis, hence the name.
The Fleur Key Necklace in Silver is available in my online store now!
]]>LuvCherie Jewelry opened for business on Etsy 10 years (and 5 weeks) ago! I can’t believe it’s been over a decade. Time sure flies when you’re working hard and having fun. The actual anniversary was January 26th, but I had to postpone the celebration sale a couple weeks due to life stuff (a.k.a., vacation, vacation recovery, and a couple illnesses). To celebrate, today everything in the LCJ store and Etsy shop is 26% off with coupon code HAPPY10THPLUS5!
During Thanksgiving weekend 2009, I learned how to wrap a headpin and went to my first bead shops. I was hooked! I opened my Etsy shop the following January and sold my very first piece (below) 3 months later. The rest is history, as they say.
Join the LCJ newsletter and receive an exclusive coupon for 10% off your purchase at RainFurrest 2015! Come see what's new, and hang with one of the best communities in Seattle!
It could be a lot or a little.
Maybe only online.
Or only my written words.
Or maybe not at all.
However much we know each other, know this:
I care about you.
Deeply.
I am that person who loves everyone.
From the very first moment I learn of your existence on this earth to the end of my time, I will love you.
And the more I get to know you, the more my love will grow.
Also know this:
I will advocate for you.
I will fight for you.
I will defend you.
Or if you need someone to stand by your side as you advocate and fight and defend yourself, I will be there.
I may not be there in body, but I will be there in spirit.
I am here for you.
In person or on the internet.
Should you need me.

The earliest version of Fandoms in Swarovski was created on a sleepless night early last March when my brain insisted on designing jewelry instead of sleeping. In May I found out that I needed thyroid surgery and created a plan to still be able to work while recovering: experience a variety of new fandoms through movies, tv shows, and books (which I could easily do from my couch) and see if they inspire new jewelry designs. It worked! Over the next few weeks the concept for Fandoms in Swarovski came together. Since then I've started designing several fandom sets, created a prototype, refined my debut designs, purchased supplies, and made the very first Lonely Unicorn and Lady Unicorn earrings.
Do you have a favorite fandom you'd like to see included in Fandoms in Swarovski? Comment below and tell me which one(s)!

]]>When I was a kid Christmas was a three day event.
As much as I looked forward to my first gift on Christmas Eve Eve and gifts from Santa on Christmas morning, it really was Christmas Eve that I looked forward to the most. Family is what made Christmas special when I was a kid and family is what makes Christmas special today.
When I joined my husband's family, I experienced for the first time the traditional Christmas morning I'd always seen in the movies. Now I have new Christmas traditions that are as special to me as the traditions of my childhood. These days with everyone's crazy schedules we get together for Christmas when we can. To me it doesn't matter what we day we celebrate, Christmas is Christmas because of family.
Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I hope you have a great day tomorrow. Do something you love, spend time with family or friends, make new memories and traditions, and have a wonderful holiday.

]]>I've had purple in my hair off and on for a few years and have used products from grocery stores, beauty stores, and salons. My experience is in no way comprehensive and I do not consider myself an expert of any kind, but from what I can tell my current record of 9 months between dye jobs is quite respectable (some pieces were still vibrant and others had faded to pale purple). The key to all of these shampoos and conditioners is that they are sulfate-free. It really does make a huge difference in how long hair color lasts and you can find one to fit any budget. So no more cleaning your hair with sulfates! Got it? ;) (FYI, I am in no way affiliated with any of the companies below. I'm just a fan and customer.)
1. Kerastase Reflection Chroma SensitiveThis cleanser is the clear winner and my favorite! To me it is well worth the price since it at least doubles (possibly triples) the time between dye jobs for me. I never see rivers of purple in the shower or spots on the shower walls, even the first time I wash. I also love that it's a handy, dandy, time-saving 2-in-1. My colorist suggested this one from her salon and it's proof that she really knows her stuff.
2. Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Moisturizing Shampoo and ConditionerThis is the best mid-priced option I've found. Although more purple washes out than with option #1, it's minimal (only faint purple spots on the shower walls for evidence). It also smells super yummy! You can usually find this pair at Sephora and other similar stores.
3. Renpure Argan Oil Luxurious Shampoo and ConditionerThis is the most affordable option of the three and it does a very good job. I do see more evidence of the color washing out than with the other two and I do notice the color fading faster, but it is still way better than most shampoos. I found this one at my grocery store, and it was the most affordable of the sulfate-free choices.
